"I feel so bad. My life is ruined because of benzos. I can't sleep, I
can't smile.Why me? Those damn doctors...I hate them.I am never gonna
be healthy again..."
It sounds very familiar to all of us,(ex)benzo users.But,what will you learn
in the following will make you think twice before you say something like
this,despite the symptoms you feel.WATCH HOW YOU SPEAK!
WHAT IS AUTOSUGGESTION?
It can be defined like this: "It's an act,by which we persuade ourselves by
imposing a thought to ourselves". CONSCIENCE and SUBCONSCIENCE.
At the beginning of 20th century,Emile Coue, a French pharmacist, who had
been practicing hypnosis for years, discovered this method. Autosuggestion is a
"tool" we get with our birth. To understand the term autosuggestion, you have
to know that there are two beings in each of us, completely separated
from each other: conscience and subconscience. Conscience is something
we are all aware of, while subconscience is something that is
transparent to us,and we go through every day without noticing
it. However, it has an enormous influence on our lives! Emile Coue calls
it the conceit. It controls all of our actions, and even against our
will when it's in conflict with it.
EXAMPLES
Take a look at the following examples:
Somnabulism- A somnabulist gets up in the middle
of the night without waking up,puts his clothes on (or without
clothes) and emerges out from his room,climbs downstairs, goes through
hallways and,after he accomplishes a particular labor, he gets back to
his room and lays down on the bed again. In the morning, he gets very
amazed when he finds out that a labor which haven't been done before
he went to sleep was done. He did it without knowing that.Who's
influence his body was under? Wasn't it his subconscious being?
Another Example:
Imagine we put a 4 feet long and 1 foot wide plank on
the ground.It's clear that everyone could walk on that plank,from one
side to the other by not putting his feet outside the plank.
Let's change the place where we put the plank and now,imagine we put it on
the top of a church.Who could,in this case,walk on the plank? Would
you? No, you wouldn't make even two steps without starting to shake
and, despite all of your will's efforts,you would probably fall down.
Why wouldn't you fall if the plank was placed on the ground,and why
would you fall if it was placed somewhere high above the ground? It's
simple to answer these questions.In the first case,you think that it's
easy to walk on the plank,while in the other case you think that you
can't do it.
Pay attention to this: you futile try to walk on the
plank if you THINK that you can't,because you are then in an absolute
disability to perform that. If the roof workers are able to do
something like that,it is because they had imagined that they can.
Here's another one,very familiar to all of us:
Insomnia- Take a look at a person who has troubles to fall asleep: If he doesn't
put efforts to fall asleep,he will fall asleep easily on his bed. However,if he tries
to fall asleep and put efforts to achieve that, he will become only
more nervous. Now,take a look at the psychic condition associated with
last two examples. * I don't want to fall,but I can't prevent that; *
I want to fall asleep, but I can't.
USE OF AUTOSUGGESTION
* diseases and conditions,both physical and mental * personal flaws and self
improvement. It helps when traditional medicine can't help-perfect for
benzodiazepine withdrawal! HOWEVER,it's not a replacement for the
traditional therapy,it is rather an addition to it.
THE METHOD
The principle of this method can be explained in a few fords: * in one
particular moment,you can think only about one thing;this means that
you can think about another thing only after the previous thought *
every thought, if our spirit concentrates only on it,becomes the truth
and it tends to become reality Therefore,if you achieve to think that
your pain goes away,your pain will pass.Autosuggestion can be used in
every single aspect of one's life - not just for healing.

Every morning,when you wake up and every evening,when you go to
bed,close your eyes and don't pay attention at words you will be
saying. The words have to be repeated half-aloud,enough to be able to
hear it and it has to be repeated at least twenty times (during this
you must not count it in your mind,you have to use a rope which has
twenty tied knots - this is because you have to prevent the
possibility to concentrate on counting). So,you repeat your suggestion
until you get to the end of the rope.

Here is an example autosuggestion,which comprises everything so
there's no need for specific autosuggestions. "Every day,in every
way,I'm getting better and better" (I use it every day. It got me to
the recovery!) You can use other autosuggestions beside this one.
Make an autosuggestion that meets your desires and goals. Just keep
you autosuggestion simple and effortless.Don't repeat it xx times a
day, because it's an effort then,and you may achieve the opposite of
what you wanted. Remember that the habits you have were acquired
without efforts! So,be patient and wait for a while - you will see
drastic changes towards better health. It may be a matter of days or
months,but if you do like it's said here you will achieve desired

RECOVERY IS A MATTER OF DECISION, BELIEF AND ACTION. THOSE WHO ACCEPT AND USE THIS METHOD WILL ACHIEVE RECOVERY.
Everyone has the ability to achieve the recovery.However,it's a matter of your
knowledge and belief systems.Instead of seeking for the revenge to those
physicians who didn't warn you about the dangers associated with the use of
benzos and blaming others for your suffering.
SPEND YOUR ENERGY ON SEEKING FOR THE SOLUTIONS. TO RECOVER FROM THE BENZO WITHDRAWAL,YOU HAVE TO DO THE FOLLOWING:
* Accept the philosophy of positive thinking.This is even more important than
autosuggestion! * Be patient.Time is the great healer. * Repair your personal
flaws,reconstruct your personality to become a better person! * Learn
about psychology a lot.Instead of fighting with others in this
group,do some reading every day. * Read many inspirational
stories;quotes and proverbs * Fight against all of your fears,no
matter how frightened or anxious you feel. * Avoid social
isolation,even if you feel very bad because of the symptoms * USE THE
AUTOSUGGESTION METHOD! * Drink a lot of water; take vitamin, mineral
and herbal supplements;eat healthy food; * Be good to yourself - eliminate
self-pity feelings and self put-downs * Watch how you speak!
Everything you say can become reality if you repeat it many times and
believe in it. So, talk only in a positive way about yourself,because
it's like this - if you say(or think) frequently to yourself "I'm not
gonna recover",your subconsciencess will accept it as your wish,and
make it real.

So, dear friends, these are the most important steps I did to achieve
my recovery from benzos(I was on Xanax for 2.5 moths and it took me
around 7.5 months to recover).Life is beautiful on the other side of
this ordeal.Positive thinking and Autosuggestion will take you there for sure!
