Coping Skills

XXXXX, I am 58 years young and after 27 years I am benzo free almost 2 years on May 19th. Been on the benzo board almost 3 years and am an old timer. It takes Time, patience, hope, faith and a lot of acting "As If." Try sleeping with earphones and relaxation, meditation tapes to stop all the thoughts you have. I even wore them during the day. Don't fear the symptoms go with them and desensitize your CNS system. Try to stop the negative thoughts and start some positive reaffirmation's such as "Every day, each and every way I am getting better and better." Take one day at a time and do not worry about tomorrow. Enjoy and capture the windows in your mind and think about them on your bad days. They will keep coming back. You are still only 6 months off and give it some more time. You will heal and you will be back to your old self. Keep telling yourself that and it will happen. The mind is a very powerful tool and you can use it to heal or make yourself worse. Take care and I wish the best for you.
