Date: Sun Oct 3, 1999 6:26 am Subject: Dysphoria and Omega 3 and Omega 6 Oils/Eat Right for your Type/Blood test/Jaw muscle spasm. Hello Everyone RE:“I went to a conference last year at the National Institute of Health (and) the whole conference was on using Omega 3 oil for depression, manic depression, schizophrenia, seizures and hyperactivity,” she said. “They had doctors from around the world reporting their success. It’s something as simple as black seed oil. The drug companies were there trying to figure out how to turn it into a pill so they can make a lot of money.” Copy from CINDYS post ref: Digest 251 I am feeling slightly better, although my jaw spasm was quite bad last night. I would like to hear from those of you who had jaw spasm/teeth grinding(Bruxism), and who, after stopping benzos, recovered from this problem. Robert Frame, I know you had this as problem, please give feed back. With regard to the Subject, after reading Cindys post with an extract about Omaga 3 oils helping with depression, I researched it myself in my library. I was so impressed, I went out and bought a bottle of Flaxseed Oil(Called Linseed as well). Also I read we need a balance of Omaga 6 oil, best from Sesame Seeds. I also take a teaspoon of Brown whole sesame seed Tahini, with no added salt. These two oils are best taken together. The book I read warned we need to take other antioxidants too, otherwise the oils can aggravate inflammatory conditions. I will scan the extract and paste it in at the bottom. I do not know if it is just coincidence, but I had no dysphoria this morning. I will report back after at least a month of the oils. I chose Flaxseed oil, as fish oils that are rich too in Omaga 3's, are too toxic from our polluted seas, especially dioxins. I am also taking Linseeds with two glasses of water after breakfast to help with my irritable bowel. This seemed to be improved too. I will see long term on this one too. Again I will report back after a more long term trial. I have ordered the book "Eat Right For Your Type" from my library. I have also made an appointment with my GP to get a blood test to find out my blood type. I have to admit that since changing my diet just slightly has taken the edge off a few symptoms. The cessation of almost all sugar has more or less stopped my panic attacks. Not forgetting all other stimulants. Coffee and tea included. Extract from "100% Health" by Patrick Holford - founder of the institute for optimum nutrition in the UK. However, a word of caution: if you have a very poor intake of antioxidant nutrients and are generating a lot of oxidants due to inflammation, these essential fats can be oxidised and may worsen the condition. Under these conditions it is best to restore the oxidant-antioxidant balance by first eliminating allergens and adding antioxidant nutrients for a month. Only then should you add in anti-inflammatory fish oils or Flaxseed (omega-3 fats) and evening primrose or borage oil or Sesame Seed Oil/ Tahini (omega-6 fats). I added the Flaxseed and Sesame Alternatives, as I think they are more nutritionally safer and richer. Hope this helps some. Ady |
