WARNING (please read on) ..sent this letter to Walt today (his question is at the bottem). If this has made anyone look at thier expieareance of this 'suppliment' differantly, please tell me, just incase its just paranoia. If its not, then I think others should know about it, ie please pass it round. Any coments very welcome. reagrds to all jason (in france) ps shame I had to find out on myself... ___________________________________________________ Hia Walt Nice to hear from u. Funny you should ask. I took it 4, 4 days at 300mg a day. It over stimulated me, & dident get rid of the deppression completly. Unfortunatly when I stopped it made things much, much worse. I now have all the syimptoms that it claims to help!! joint pains, head aches, my heart & liver hert & the deppression/anxiety/extream tirerdness are ten times stronger. Im not sure how much the sam-e has to do with this, but I do get the destinct feeling that if your body makes all the sam-e it needs (which it dose normaly ie around 8mg a day, mostly in the liver) supplimenting it makes your liver get lazy, & it stops producing the amount u supplimented with, ie if u take 100mg a day your liver goes down 100mg a day naturaly. I also susspect that if your in wds from antideppresants, it totaly screws up with the proccess. Three days after I stopped, I got no phisical WD but, my word did I get psychological ones.. I went into delerious deppression, the bar across my head became very pronounced, & feel as bad as I did a year ago, with no windows now. Had begun to get 1 day a week before the sam-e.. make your own conclussions. In short, I feel as if not only is my reuptake mecanism srewed up, but now also the production end of the seratonin/neuroadrenalin/dopamine sinapsis's, that being that Im not producing anough of those substances, which I can feel wasent the case before taking sam-e. This is potencialy very danerious because sam-e is responsable for many chemical functions in the body, including the correct function of many organs (liver, heart, brain ect). I may be wrong in this asumption, but if Im not this 'suppliment' should be avoided at all costs. Can u please do me a faviour & pass this susspition to the groups your a member of ASAP. It would be interesting to find out how many of those who have had expieareance with sam-e have also had long term problems with recovery afterwards, from eighter WDs from antideppresants or benzo.. so far I have personaly read 3 examples of my susspition, & consider it of extream importance to find out if my hypothasis is true, so other people can avoid it. Am unable to do this myself as Im now so ill again hardly ever go out to write emails. Please keep in contact, & my fondest regards to u.
