Dear xxxxx,

I am sure all of us old timers can relate to this. I and

many others were totally convinced that we would be the only ones who would

never recover.

Mother nature though is wonderful, she heals, but in her own

time and as we know in benzo withdrawal because these drugs work on the

brain and nervous system this can take a while simply because nerves take

longer to heal but they do heal. It is though sooo hard to cope with a

re-emergence of symptoms especially when free of some if not all of them for

a while.

It too is common , and very human when going through such a

traumatic time to believe its going to last forever. The respite that you

had from symptoms proves you are beginning to heal, remember to have a

setback means you must have made progress in the first place.

Time is the main healer from this and of course having support and taking as

much care for yourself as you can without subjecting your body to anymore

drugs or alcohol if possible for quite some time afterwards. You are moving

forward even though you may not feel like it. I know myself that I needed

constant guidance and reassurance from those who had travelled this road

before me.

Take care, love Carol.
