Subject: Cold Turkey

Dear xxxxxxxx:

I was on Klonipin 10 mg per day for 7 years (they gave me this for a seizure disorder, which off the Klonipin I no longer even have) and quit cold turkey 2 years plus ago. The physical and emotional discomfort were very intense, but I have my life back, and am glad I just "went for it".

My withdrawal is more or less over now, and I have my life back, and consider every day an enormous blessing.

PLEASE NOTE: When I did my "cold turkey" withdrawal, I was on Tegretol for seizures for the first 9 months (I had been on it for 2 years previous to that, also), which I tapered off of totally over 9 months.

I have been off the Tegretol as well for 1 year 3 months, and have never had a seizure, no aura, nothing. But, I would not recommend a withdrawal such as mine without some sort of medication in place for seizures, from such a high amount.

I have been reading bits and pieces, but don't know how much Klonipin you are on.I cannot tell you how great my life is now, off the Klonipin, and how bad my life had become while I was on the Klonipin. I would not trade my worst day of withdrawal for my best day on Klonipin. But, I don't want to give anyone the illusion that it was easy.God bless, Heather.

You will be in my prayers.

Carol
