Subject: It does get better!

Hi group,

I do not post often but my story is short. I was on xanax 6 mgs a

day and was quickly tapered off at Mayo and sent home to recover.

I had just about every symptom mentioned and had a very difficult

withdrawal. There were so many days I pleaded with my loving husband

just to reassure me that I was going to make it. There are so many

days you are so convinced that the good life is gone.

The first 3-4 months were unbearable to me. Panic galore with all

the physical symptoms!! Then it eased up some but still was very

difficult. With God's grace I just took one day at a time and was so

thankful I had made it through another day. Sounds familiar to

anyone??

At about 9 months I felt like there was a light at the end of the

tunnel and that light has gotten bigger and bigger each day. When

people say hang in there it will get better they are right.

Unfortunately time is the only true healer and you have to give it

Lots of time. Do not give up!!! It does get better and I am an

example of that.

I am now 12 months off and still have some symptoms but they are like

a nuisance. Nothing like in the past. Yes withdrawals are terrible

and Yes it does get better.
